Pickleball is coming to Central Park’s iconic Wollman Rink
One of the world’s most famous parks is about to find itself in a pickle — the good kind, that is.
The Big Apple’s hotspot for pickleball, CityPickle, is teaming up again with Wollman Park Partners to bring the nation’s fastest-growing sport back to Central Park’s iconic Wollman Rink.
Spanning from May 1 through early fall, the partnership deal promises three years of seasonal pickleball bliss, running all the way into 2026.
Last year’s stint saw an incredible turnout, with more than 56,000 participants of all ages and backgrounds flocking to the courts to play.
Now, CityPickle and Wollman Park Partners are doubling down on their commitment to deliver the same experience for New Yorkers and visitors alike.
And the upgrades? CityPickle — not just working alongside Wollman Park Partners, but also the city Department of Parks & Recreation — has secured the green light for 14 spanking new, state-of-the-art courts.
These surfaces, coupled with C&D Pickleball Nets, are set to elevate the playing field, offering both rookies and veterans a top-tier experience from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
