CityPickle hires Derek Sawer as Director of Pickleball Operations

A familiar face in the Brooklyn pickleball scene, Derek Sawer will be crossing boroughs to expand his pickleball coaching offerings to CityPickle!

Derek is a former college tennis player who discovered pickleball during the pandemic. He was an admissions counselor and graduate student in philosophy when he decided to dedicate his career to coaching pickleball in 2022, and CityPickle is thrilled to have him at the helm as Director of Pickleball Operations, a position which allows him to continue to coach while also developing a robust pickleball program, including clinics, leagues, tournaments, and ranked open play.

He loves welcoming new players and helping people achieve their first breakthrough on the court. Derek is excited to bring pickleball to the people of NYC and is committed and determined to make it fun for everyone of all levels.
